Growth targets should be formulated as if they have already been achieved to clearly describe the desired success. According to the GoalEnvision model, growth targets are superior to strategic goals. This means that your growth targets should be achieved through the strategy you set with your strategic goals.

To be able to create a growth target, you need to have the right authorisation. Read more in the section on permissions in GoalEnvision.

To create a growth target in GoalEnvision, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to GoalEnvision and go to the organisation page.

  2. On the organisation page, you will find the "Growth targets" section. Click on the "Add growth targets" button.

  3. You are now on the page where you can set your growth target. Give the target a clear and inspiring name that expresses that the target has already been achieved. For example, instead of writing "Increase sales", you could write "10% increase in sales within the next year".

  4. Please describe more about why you want to add this target. For example, you could mention that increased sales will lead to increased profitability and expansion.

  5. Decide how you want to measure the target. You can either use an objective measure obtained from an external source, or make your own judgement as a percentage of how close to the target you feel you are. For example, if you want to measure sales growth, you can use an external sales report or make your own judgement based on past sales data.

  6. If you choose to use a metric, specify which unit you want to measure in. For example, if you measure sales in dollars, enter "dollars" as the unit.

  7. Enter the starting value of the target. This is the value that the target had when you started measuring it. If you start measuring today, enter today's date as the starting value.

  8. Enter the current value of the target. This is the current value of the target today, based on your judgement or external data.

  9. Enter the target value for the goal. This is the value that the target should have at a specific date. For example, if you want to increase sales by 10% within one year, enter the future sales value.

  10. Click "Next" and you are done.

Now you have set a growth target in GoalEnvision. This goal will be superior to your strategic goals and help you drive growth for your business.
