The real strength of GoalEnvision is the method of delegating responsibility for strategic goals out into the organisation.

The GoalEnvision delegation approach is a powerful feature that promotes ownership, engagement, efficiency and flexibility in achieving strategic goals. By allocating responsibilities in a well-structured way, the organisation can leverage the strengths of each individual employee while promoting a holistic and collaborative approach to maximise success.

By allocating responsibilities in this way, the company can capitalise on the specific skills and contributions of each department to achieve the strategic goal in a more efficient and holistic way.

This is how the follow-up of strategic goals in GoalEnvision works:

The monitoring of strategic goals in GoalEnvision is an important process for measuring progress towards these objectives. There are two ways to measure strategic goals in the system: through objective measurements or through surveys that provide subjective results based on the respondents.

Let us first explain the two concepts of reporting manager and goal manager:

Reporting manager: The person who has been assigned the task of regularly reporting the latest results. This can be a different person than the one responsible for achieving the goal. For example, a manager or team leader may have designated an employee to be the reporting manager and submit status reports on a regular basis.

Example: In a company, the CEO may be responsible for setting goals to increase sales and appoint a sales manager as the reporting manager. The sales manager is responsible for collecting sales data from the sales team and regularly reporting the results to the CEO.

Goal Manager: The person responsible for ensuring that the goal is achieved. In GoalEnvision, the goal manager is the person responsible for the unit or department associated with the goal. If you change the person responsible for a unit linked to the goal, you also automatically change the goal manager for that goal in GoalEnvision.

Example: If there is a goal to improve customer satisfaction within the customer service team, the team leader can be the goal owner. The team leader is responsible for leading the team towards achieving the goal by implementing improvement measures and reporting progress to senior management.

The message to the reporting manager:

When the selected period for each strategic goal has ended, GoalEnvision automatically sends out a message to the people responsible for reporting updated results or outcomes for the period. For example, if the period interval is one month, the message is sent out on the first day of the next month.

The message will provide the recipient with a link to a page in GoalEnvision where all the information that needs to be updated is gathered in one place. It is important to note that the person responsible for reporting results or answering surveys is not necessarily the same person responsible for achieving the goal.

The page that the recipient comes to contains all the information that needs to be updated in one place. This may include measures that need to be updated and questionnaires that need to be answered. There is also space for comments where the person reporting the results can provide additional information. For example, they can indicate if the outcome is uncertain or if there are other circumstances that may affect the result and should be taken into account.

The surveys in GoalEnvision are designed as statements that respondents assess the truthfulness of. This approach makes it easier to assess the veracity of statements rather than answering questions using scores. As with the formulation of strategic goals and conditions, the recommendations are to use statements rather than point-based questions to facilitate the assessment of truthfulness.

Notification to the goal manager:

Once the updated results and the survey have been answered, GoalEnvision will send a message to the person responsible for achieving the goal.

The goal manager will now have an opportunity to review and comment on the results. In the comment field you can also paste links to more detailed reports or other URLs.

Once you have finalised the review, the result will be available to all participants in GoalEnvision.
